Jesus, gun rights and an ultra-conservative family image are Lauren Boebert’s main political themes. But last weekend, smoking, singing and, above all, groping were apparently on the agenda – until the Republican was kicked out of a theater.
US Congresswoman Boebert caused a stir with her behavior during a play. The 36-year-old was thrown out of a theater in the US state of Colorado last weekend after other guests complained about the Republican.
The incident is particularly spicy because Boebert is in favor of ultra-conservative family politics and opposes ‘obscene’ drag queens.
Surveillance video captured everything
Surveillance video of the action emerged a few days ago. It shows, among other things, how Boebert puffs on an e-cigarette, takes pictures of the performance with her mobile phone and how she and her companion apparently grope each other in public (see tweet below).
According to The Denver Post newspaper, a pregnant woman reportedly asked Boebert to stop smoking e-cigarettes. Boebert is said to have rejected this. Finally, the Republican and her companion were escorted out by security personnel, amid loud protests from the politician.
Trump girlfriend apologizes
Boebert continues to polarize people in the US. She is one of the most radical Republican members of the House of Representatives and is on the far right. She is a gun nut and supporter of former President Donald Trump. She entered the House of Representatives after the 2020 elections and narrowly defended her seat in her Colorado district just two years later. There she ran a café for a while where weapons were openly carried.
After the incident in the theater, a spokesperson for Boebert denied that the MP had smoked an e-cigarette. He blamed the steam from a smoke machine. “The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I am truly sorry,” Boebert said in a statement available to US media. She initially did not remember smoking an e-cigarette when discussing the incident with her team, the report said.
She also discussed her “difficult divorce” and not sticking to her values in the theater.
