Date:

Unusual guest at Disney World: On Monday morning (local time), a black bear was spotted in the theme park of the same name near Orlando in the US state of Florida. Parts of the park were subsequently temporarily closed. Biologists and employees of an animal protection organization later captured the animal, the New York Times and other American media report.

The adult female bear was spotted in a tree in the “Magic Kingdom” area. Helicopter footage shows several emergency responders carrying something large wrapped in a white tarp out of the park early Monday afternoon, NBC reported. It’s probably the bear. She had previously been under anesthesia, American media reported.

Emergency services are searching for the bear here:

Probably walked into the park looking for food
The animal was then taken to an area in or on the Ocala National Forest northwest of Orlando, CBS quoted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission as saying. The bear was probably looking for food, he said. According to the authority, bears are already building up fat reserves for the winter and therefore eat around 20,000 calories per day.
