It had to be a dream trip for a group of Americans. The group flew to Europe, rented six Lamborghinis and wanted to explore the continent. But it ended – at least for now – in an extremely expensive crash on the Swiss Flüela Pass.
On Tuesday, the six Lamborghinis were on their way from Davos to the Flüela Pass towards Zernez in the canton of Graubünden, which directly borders Vorarlberg, when a serious accident occurred. One of the ‘Lambos’, a blue Huracan STO (new price approx. 250,000 euros), came off the road on the winding mountain road and ended up in a stream between blueberry bushes and marmot holes.
The “Lambo” journey continued
According to the Swiss “Blick”, the 46-year-old driver informed the police, the car rental company and also the insurance company, but he decided not to wait at the scene of the accident until the police arrived. Instead, he continued the journey as a passenger in one of the other sports cars.
Ignorance is no protection against reporting
However, it was stopped by the cantonal police in the Engadin community of Scuol. Apparently the men did not realize that despite reporting an accident, in Switzerland – and also in other European countries – you cannot simply walk away from the scene of an accident. When they were informed about this, they cooperated, according to “Blick”. However, this does not change the fact that the driver of the accident has been reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Graubünden.
