In a horrific incident last September, American father Philip Paxson was killed in a devastating accident. The circumstances of the accident are now raising concerns about the accuracy of navigation apps such as Google Maps.
The unfortunate turn of events occurred when Paxson relied on Google Maps for his journey home. Unbeknownst to him, the app sent him to an unmarked, collapsed bridge with no barriers to warn drivers of the dangerous condition. His Jeep Gladiator fell about twenty feet from the bridge and the man drowned.
The family is now suing Google Maps. The trial began on Tuesday in the state of North Carolina.
