That turned out well again! On Friday morning, a 63-year-old fell on the tracks at Liezen train station in Styria – an approaching train was able to stop in time.
At around 10.40 am, the 63-year-old from the Leoben district is said to have fallen on the tracks of the platform at Liezen train station and suffered head injuries of an unspecified degree. A witness stated that the man was clearly heavily intoxicated. The driver of an approaching train noticed the fall as it approached and was able to stop the train in time.
Rescue team, emergency doctor and fire brigade in action
Doctors and paramedics on the train provided first aid. Further care was continued by paramedics from the Liezen Red Cross, emergency paramedics and an emergency physician from Rottenmann. The injured man was eventually taken to the LKH Rottenmann. The Liezen City fire brigade was present with a total of 14 men and two vehicles. The railway lines were closed for the duration of the operation, reopening around 11:15 am.
