Dangerous mission for a policewoman on Friday evening in Lower Austria: an alcoholic driver raced with a van towards the officer, who was able to save himself just in time by jumping out of the way.
The van was stopped in Pfaffstätten shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday. The Lower Austrian initially stopped the car. When an officer walked in his direction, the man abruptly drove away.
The officers jumped aside and were unharmed. As a result of the near collision, the local man drove the van into a settlement, where the 54-year-old was eventually found. The drunk 54-year-old’s driver’s license was temporarily confiscated. The man will be reported to the Wiener Neustadt public prosecutor’s office and the Baden district administration.
