As reported, Turkish-born Hasan D. (42) shot a fellow countryman, 34-year-old Fatih E., there. According to initial investigations, the two men had known each other for a long time through their work on Vienna’s Großgrünmarkt.
Appointed to talk about money
According to the victim’s best friend, who witnessed the terrible act, the later perpetrator called the 34-year-old that evening and summoned him to the later crime scene “for a conversation about money” – Hasan D. was Fatih E. Owe 500 euros: “So we both drove there around midnight.”
To the agreed meeting point, the parking lot of the cinema, “which was already completely empty at the time”. However, where a black BMW stood: “Fatih went to the car, the passenger door was opened and then he was shot at.”
The police are now looking for accomplices
There was another man in the car, “who then drove it.” After the 34-year-old fell to the ground bleeding, the car was immediately started: “And while he was driving, two more bullets were fired at Fatih.”
The BMW then allegedly “disappeared into the darkness at high speed.” Hasan D. has now been arrested in Hungary, but has not yet been questioned; his extradition to Austria is expected to take place soon. The man who was behind the wheel of the BMW – he belongs to Hasan D. – has not yet been identified. The person in question is charged with accessory to murder.
