It’s a miracle no one died! In May, a local man (32) with an alcohol content of 2.4 per mille crashed head-on into an oncoming car with his company car in the Tyrolean Zillertal. A man driving home from a cycling race with his son and grandson was seriously injured.
“I’m very sorry about everything,” the alcoholic tried to justify himself at the Innsbruck Regional Court. However, he apparently cannot remember the accident in the “Märzentunnel” in Ried im Zillertal and the alcohol consumption. “I don’t know where I was before,” the suspect said.
Paramedic attacked
It becomes clear when he looks at his twelve previous convictions that the man – who mainly has a job as a truck driver – should actually stay away from alcohol.
Judge Andreas Mair has now imposed a ten-month prison sentence! Because the 32-year-old drunkenly attacked a paramedic who wanted to treat him, he was also sentenced to four months in prison from a previous conviction. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
