The Bad Sauerbrunn primary school (Mattersburg district) was evacuated on Thursday morning. The reason: a chemical leaked from a dental practice in the same building. 120 children had to leave school.
People became aware of the accident because of the smell. Fire brigade, police and rescue services took action. As emergency services reported, the escaped fluid was a corrosive liquid that irritates the eyes and respiratory tract. According to initial reports, no one was injured.
However, an employee of the dental practice was reportedly taken to the hospital for further clarification, ORF-Burgenland reports. Fire brigade, police and rescue services were present. The school building has now been reopened for access.
