Because another truck driver made abrupt driving maneuvers in front of him, a 52-year-old motorist from Styria had to make an emergency stop. But he could no longer ignore it and a serious traffic accident occurred.
The accident took place shortly after midnight on Tuesday evening at the Klagenfurt-West junction. “The 52-year-old was driving in the direction of Vienna and stated that a truck in front of him suddenly braked and accelerated again. Because of this driving behavior, he applied emergency braking,” the police explain. “He hit a shock absorber.”
Driver was uninjured
The vehicle was totaled in the accident, but fortunately the driver himself was unharmed; an alcohol test was also negative. “The truck blocked the entire road towards Vienna. The lockdown could only be lifted after more than three hours at 3:40 am,” the police said.
Several hours of use
“The truck had to be towed, the fork had to be reorganized, the construction site had to be re-marked and the roadway had to be cleared.” In addition to the highway police, the volunteer fire brigades of Pörtschach and Krumpendorf were also present.
