There were always conflicts with the neighbors because of the stray dogs – but now the handcuffs clicked on an Austrian couple in Spain for a completely different reason. The suspects operated a professional marijuana plantation in their finca.
The couple had recently moved to the country house in Alameda de Cervera. And yet there was already a thick atmosphere between them and their neighbors. The reason was the Austrians’ two pit bulls, which were said to have repeatedly wandered around freely. When one of the residents finally noticed a suspicious odor, he alerted the police.
The observant whistleblower also immediately reported that his new neighbors had brought in a surprising number of flower pots, bags of soil and fertilizer when they moved in. And so the Spanish police recently scrutinized the remote property. And this from the air.
Aerial observation
The researchers literally got an overview of the property with a drone and actually found what they were looking for: they discovered a huge marijuana plantation and then stormed the finca. No fewer than 140 marijuana plants were ‘harvested’ by the officers during the raid and highly professional growing equipment was seized.
And for the lady of the house, apparently the responsible factory representative, the handcuffs also clicked on the spot. What her husband didn’t notice: he was on a business trip home and was just on his way back. A little later he was picked up at the airport by the waiting drug investigators.
