Success for the police in the Horn district after a 70-year-old was rudely awakened. After he was approached by a foreign woman in the parking lot, it was quickly decided: she had to be honest with him. An entire “column” then not only cleaned up everything together, but also cleaned up his house. Then the thieves fell into the trap.
The man from the Geras region in the Horn district had imagined it very differently. When a friendly woman approached him in the Hofer parking lot in Horn to clean the house for him, he agreed and provided his telephone number. Four days later the doorbell rang: the cleaning appointment had been made and he would pick her up from the Lidl parking lot in Horn.
“Fats”, other prey
The first surprise: instead of one woman, three foreign women were waiting for the man in the parking lot. But the 70-year-old thought nothing of it and brought the ladies to his house. After about two hours the job was done.
Each of the ladies asked 50 euros for their services and the pensioner drove them back to Horn. Two days later there was a sudden rude awakening. The man noticed that gold coins from his coin collection, as well as his daughter’s SLR camera and clothes, were missing. Even kitchen appliances were initially stolen unnoticed.

A week later, the 70-year-old was called again by the ‘cleaning crew’. He immediately coordinated with the Geras Police Station and then set a date for the house to be cleaned again.
The ladies arrived around 1 p.m. and half an hour later the detectives from the Geras and Eggenburg inspections fell into the trap: the Romanian trio was arrested. After being identified and questioned through an interpreter, one of the Romanian women was deported to the Czech Republic. The two other women are said to be at large.
