For the second time, a bank in Vienna was allegedly robbed by a man with a noticeably large nose. The police have been looking for the unknown man since last week – the suspect is believed to have struck again in Leopoldstadt on Monday
Monday started in Vienna-Leopoldstadt with police sirens: an unknown male person allegedly robbed a bank branch. The perpetrator managed to escape – the investigation is ongoing.
Are they serial offenders?
The strange thing about the attack: The course of events and the description of the person are reminiscent of an attack last Tuesday in Vienna’s Hernals. Both last week and Monday, a man with a noticeably large nose allegedly placed a piece of paper on the bank counter in a bank branch with a request to hand over money.
He is also said to have hidden a firearm in his waistband. He then allegedly put the stolen goods in a black bag.
The investigations are in full swing
During the attack on Monday afternoon, the suspect was said to have worn a black hood, a black scarf, black gloves and a brown, gray and white checked jacket, according to Vienna police. The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the investigation.
