Major alarm in Bad Großpertholz: Picric acid was again discovered in a school in the Waldviertel (Lower Austria) on Wednesday afternoon. The container was blown up in a nearby meadow by the bomb squad.
Just a few days after the use of acid in a school in Groß Siegharts, the fire brigade was again warned on Wednesday afternoon about an explosive operation in the Waldviertel: this time a bottle of picric acid containing about 100 milliliters was discovered in the chemistry room of a secondary school in Bad Großpertholz in the Gmünd district.
Explosion: A dull bang was heard
Police and rescue services were notified and students and teaching staff were evacuated. The Ministry of the Interior’s harmless service eventually exploded the bottle in a nearby meadow. No one was injured and there was no danger to people or the environment.
