Out of the corner of her eye, Dirndl legend Elfi Maisetschläger saw how a young woman in the dressing room put first a pair of panties and then a blouse into her bag. “The lady apparently wanted to smuggle the bra under the sweater out of my store in Weitra,” says the costume designer indignantly.

The caught thief – almost bare-breasted – sought redemption by fleeing. Directly into the thick snow and the winter night of the Waldviertel. The icy woman didn’t get far. Because after a few steps, she was caught by the determined businesswoman. “Move or report it,” Maisetschläger gave the perpetrator the choice. She regretfully decided to put her own bra back on…
