Two car occupants in Reith im Alpbachtal in the Tyrolean district of Kufstein were very lucky on Monday afternoon. Her car was about to fall off an embankment and was stopped at the last minute by a tree.
The driver of the car, a 26-year-old German, drove from Naschberg into the Alpbacher Höhenstraße around 4 p.m. on Monday. In the municipality of Reith, the 26-year-old’s car collided with the embankment wall on the right side of the road in a left bend, after which he lost control of his car.
Steeply sloping dike
The vehicle went over the left side of the road and slid about three meters down a steep embankment.
The occupants of the car were unharmed
Before the car could fall further, it was stopped by a tree. A blessing in disguise for the German and his co-driver. Both were unharmed. There was significant damage to the car.
After the accident, the Alpbacher Höhenstrasse was closed to all traffic for the duration of the safety and rescue work.
