Steering wheel stuck – two serious accidents in quick succession in Graz

Date:

Two accidents took place in Graz on Saturday: on Wiener Strasse, the driver of a minibus had to be freed from his car by the professional fire brigade after a collision. Fortunately, no one was injured in an accident involving the public bus on Elisabethstrasse.

Shortly before noon, the emergency services were alerted to an accident in the Lend district. A minivan and a van collided at the intersection of Wiener Straße/Am Damm. The driver (81) of the van allegedly drove out of the parking lot and rammed the van, which the 81-year-old denies.

The force of the collision caused the van to collide with parked cars. The van came to a stop in the middle of the intersection. While the 22-year-old driver of the small van was able to free himself, the driver of the minivan was trapped.

A Floriani supported drivers in the wreck
A firefighter attended to the injured man in the car and his comrades began the rescue effort. After a few minutes, the driver’s door was removed using hydraulic rescue equipment and the slightly injured driver was freed.

It immediately crashed again
The next major operation took place shortly after noon. A post office box and a van collided at the Elisabethstrasse/Merangasse intersection. When the professional fire brigade arrived on the scene, all passengers had already emerged unharmed.

The bus driver was locked behind the wheel
The driver of the van was able to climb out of his vehicle with minor injuries. The bus driver was unharmed, but was stuck in her so-called bus control station. They were also able to be freed by the emergency services.

The Graz professional fire brigade was present with a total of six vehicles and 30 men.
