SPÖ club president Kucher found clear words in the ‘Krone’ conversation after his party’s animal protection spokesperson recently shocked an injunction against an animal protection association. He wanted an incriminating video of his event to be banned by the court. The regional court in Ried has now provisionally rejected this.
Videos showing terrifying scenes are now appearing almost every week. Electric shocks during training, underage ‘protection assistants’ being sent across the field or dogs refusing to let go when given the ‘off’ command in an exam situation.
The proponents of ‘working dog training’ always respond according to the same pattern: with the best will in the world they see nothing problematic, animal rights activists are clueless and have only agitation in mind.
Spokesperson for Animal Protection as organizer
This also applies to the organizer of the “Giant Schnauzer World Cup”, who wants to legally strangle these kinds of revelations. Within clubs and sports clubs, people should be grateful when possible grievances come to light – but apparently people are also resistant to advice in ‘crisis communication’.
Not very insightful
The critical assessment of the animal rights activists must be refuted with the help of private reports and the circulating video must be banned. But the Ried Regional Court rejects the summary judgment and is of the opinion that violations of the Animal Welfare Act cannot be ruled out!
An expert also hired by the opposing party paints a very different picture of the criticized scenes. “The different interpretations of the two reports confirm to the court that the recordings can certainly be experienced as problematic by an ‘objectively average viewer’,” said Jürgen Stadler of “Pfotenhilfe”.
Position clarified
But the last word in this case has not yet been spoken and we must await the actual outcome of the proceedings. But the party members have now pulled the cord and are taking a clear position after Dietmar Keck’s solo effort.
Animal protection unit
SPÖ club president Philip Kucher also rallied the red-led states behind him, saying in the “Krone” interview that “private training involving aggressive behavior towards people should be rejected both from the perspective of animal protection and for safety reasons.”
Long wait for decision
All factions have now taken a clear position, only the People’s Party is still hesitant. The chancellor’s party is letting its green coalition partner wait for a concrete decision, even though more specific details have already been announced several times. Why don’t people finally show their color here – it’s not just animal rights activists who ask themselves this question!
