A 40-year-old man from Villach was in a particular hurry on Friday because he drove at 233 km/h on the A2 Südautobahn instead of the permitted 130 km/h. The police have also arrested a second speeding offender.
On Friday afternoon, a civilian patrol from the National Traffic Service noticed a vehicle on the A2 South highway that was driving significantly too fast.
Instead of the permitted 130 km/h, the 40-year-old driver drove at 233 km/h on the highway in the city area of Villach! After he was arrested by the officers, he had to surrender his driver’s license on the spot.
Second speeding offender caught
Almost at the same time, the Klagenfurt motorway police also had to deal with a speeding offender: Also on the southern A2 motorway – this time in the municipality of Krumpendorf – a 44-year-old man from Villach was caught driving at a speed of 125 km/h in a construction zone where a speed limit of 60 km/h applies. His driver’s license was also temporarily confiscated on the spot.
