Currently, young people in Euskadi are emancipated at the age of 29.7 and only a third of people aged 25 to 29 have a home to rent or own. Today the Basque government approves the Emantzipa program, which will provide up to 300 euros per month to young people who want to emancipate.
On average, young people become emancipated with 29.7 years in Euskadi, three years later than in Europe. Between 25 and 29 years old, only 32% own a house owned or rented.
With the aim of accelerating and facilitating the emancipation of young people, the Basque government today approves the Emanzipa utilitywhich will be available in February 2024. Below we describe the keys to this new initiative.
What does it consist of?
In direct assistance of 300 euros per month young people between 25 and 29 years old. If you share the home with someone else, the support is 200 euros and if a total of three people live in the home, 150 euros. To receive aid, the maximum number of inhabitants will be from the house three people.
The requirements
– Be between 25 and 29 years old
– Applicants’ annual income must be between 3,000 and 28,000 euros.
– Proof of a rental or home purchase contract
– At least three years of registration in the last ten.
– Be registered in every municipality of the BAC.
When can I order it?
Even if the decision is approved today, the aid will be available since February.
For how much time?
Support can be received during maximum two years. Total maximum 7,200 euros per person. The support must be used to pay for housing, or to cover costs arising from living outside the family home.
The target
Reduce the average emancipation rate in Euskadi. From the current figure (29.7 years) to 28 years.
According to Eustat, there are in Euskadi 99,150 people in that areabetween 25 and 29 years old.
