A tragic skiing accident occurred in Warth am Arlberg on Wednesday morning: a 13-year-old girl lost her stick while riding the lift. When the young Belgian wanted to save it, she fell.
The ski pole had remained above ski slope number 284 on extremely steep terrain. While trying to climb the slope with her ski boots, the 13-year-old slipped.
She first slid across the partly frozen ski slope before falling more than 100 meters down a steep slope full of rocks. Only when it leveled out again did the Belgian stay down.
The young holidaymaker suffered unspecified injuries to her cervical vertebrae. She was flown to Feldkirch State Hospital by the crew of the rescue helicopter “Robin 1”.
