On Monday evening (local time), a vehicle drove into an exterior gate of the White House in Washington. The driver was taken into custody, guards at Platform X said.
The police then temporarily closed a large part of the streets around the president’s official residence. An occasional helicopter also circled above the complex. There were initially no reports of injuries.
Journalist Chaudhary Parvez posted a video of the operation on platform X. In it, a police car is seen driving behind two cars and coming to a stop. Police officers approach the car, exchange information and examine materials in the trunk. For safety, traffic cones have been placed on the street.

The cause and nature of the collision are now under investigation, the company said. US President Joe Biden was not at the official government headquarters at the time of the incident.
