A German (44) who was driving his car on a national highway in the Oberland had looked far too deeply into the glass. The horror ride ended with a tilt on a steel railing.
On Friday around 1:40 p.m., the German drove his car onto the Grinner Landesstraße towards Landeck. For reasons that are still unclear, he collided with the steel railing of the sports field.
Community workers rushed to help
The force of the impact caused the vehicle to overturn and land on its roof. A community worker nearby noticed the accident, immediately rushed to help and started the rescue chain.
The 44-year-old was rescued from the vehicle and taken to hospital in Zams with significant injuries. A breath analysis showed that there was serious alcohol consumption. The man’s driver’s license was confiscated.
