A lifeguard became a lifesaver in a swimming pool in Stainach in the Ennstal. He jumped into the pool when he saw a four-year-old floating lifeless in the water, pulled him out of the pool and resuscitated the boy.
The four-year-old from the Liezen district was with his family in the Stainach swimming pool when he unnoticed around 5 p.m. withdrew his bracelets from his upper arms and jumped into the approximately 130 centimeters deep pool.
The lifeguard was just checking the water quality when he saw the boy floating in the water just below the surface of the water. He immediately jumped into the pool and pulled the unconscious four-year-old to the edge of the pool. After a short CPR, the boy regained consciousness.
After first aid, he was taken by the rescue helicopter Christophorus 14 to the children’s ward of the LKH Leoben.
