The Islamabad government has placed the attack within the conflict it has with armed groups in Balochistan and which has recently spread to neighboring Iran.

The army of Pakistan made one bombing this morning in Iran against alleged insurgent groups in Balochistan and killed at least 9 people, including women and children. This attack comes two days after Iran attacked positions of a ‘terrorist group’ in Pakistan.

Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi stated that the attack took place in the city of Saravan, in the region Province of Sistan and Balochistan and is located a few kilometers from the border with Pakistan. In his words, in the same “they were murdered four children, three women and two men“. The lieutenant governor of this province has detailed that the dead adults are foreigners.

For its part, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that “several terrorists” were killed during the bombings and that they attacked “insurgent hideouts” of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF). , in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan. Likewise, he added that the attacks were carried out “due to Iran’s lack of action” to stop the activities of these groups on its territory.

However, the same statement emphasizes that “Pakistan fully respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” which it considers “a brother country” that it “respects and admires.”

These attacks have happened two days after the Revolutionary Guards of Iran will attack with missiles and drones two claimed bases of the Sunni group Jaish al-Adl in Pakistan.

Islamabad assured at the time that two children were among the dead and warned of “serious consequences.” As a result of that attack, the Pakistani government recalled its ambassador to Tehran for consultations and announced the suspension of all high-level visits to the neighboring country.

The Jaish al-Adl group is a Sunni group that opposes the Shia government of Iran. Tehran blames him for several attacks on its territory.

In turn, the Baloch people have been in armed conflict with the government of Pakistan for control of the province of Balochistan since the mid-20th century, when Pakistan was founded. Recently, the conflict has also spread to the neighboring provinces of Sistan and Balochistan, located in Iranian territory.
