A 39-year-old skier from the Czech Republic died in a collision on the Kitzsteinhorn in the Pinzgau in Salzburg on Thursday morning.
According to the police, the woman hit a 43-year-old compatriot, whom she did not know, from behind during the Langwied descent around 10.30 am and both fell. Resuscitation measures came too late and the emergency doctor could only determine that the 39-year-old was dead. The 43-year-old was injured and the exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
Another accident in Obertauern
A 55-year-old holidaymaker from Germany was injured in another accident in Obertauern (St. Johann im Pongau district). The woman from the Harburg district was standing on the slope of the Hochalmbahn when a snowboarder ran over her skis. The 55-year-old fell and the snowboarder rode away without paying her any attention. The German was taken to the valley by rescue efforts for further medical treatment.
