The last remaining university in the Gaza Strip was destroyed by the Israeli army on Wednesday. A video shows the Israeli University building being blown up. Previously, the facility was occupied for approximately 70 days and converted into a military barracks and an internment camp.
The university board condemned “the barbaric aggression directed against the capabilities of knowledge students.” In addition, the National Museum was also destroyed. In a Facebook post, the university accused Israel of looting thousands of rare artifacts before the demolition.
Critics are calling for a complete academic boycott of Israel
Critics on social media accuse Israel of specifically and directly targeting Gaza educational institutions and cultural centers. Some called for a complete academic boycott of Israel.
Before the major attack by the terrorist organization Hamas on Israel, which caused a war, there were seven universities in the Gaza Strip. These have now all been destroyed or severely damaged.
