That came too suddenly: a 53-year-old disabled man and his wife were surprised by a stray dog. The shock of the couple led to an accident in the municipality of Waidhofen an der Thaya (Lower Austria), in which the man was injured.
A couple in Waidhofen an der Thaya in the Waldviertel must have imagined this evening walk much calmer. When the 58-year-old woman was walking on a forest path with her husband, who is in a wheelchair, on Thursday, the couple experienced some really shocking moments: suddenly a free-running husky jumped on the disabled 53-year-old.
Ambulance was on duty
The shock caused the woman to lose control of the wheelchair, which rattled uncontrollably down a slope. Several trees eventually slowed the man’s descent, who was then taken by ambulance to Horn State Hospital with injuries of unknown extent.
Dog owners were quickly investigated
Police quickly identified the dog’s owner. It is a 31-year-old who stated that the dog had escaped. It is still unclear whether the husky escaped from the house or during a walk and how he escaped. The dog’s owner was charged with negligent bodily harm.
