Interview in the Amstetten case – Fritzl: “He should be locked up, wherever!”

Date:

Josef Fritzl is transferred by the prison system to a normal cell. A jury determined this on Thursday. From mid-2024, his placement in an ‘outside’ nursing home seems likely. But what do Amstettner citizens think? asked the “Krone”.

In 2008, all eyes were on the Lower Austrian municipality of Amstetten. Josef Fritzl held his daughter captive in a cellar dungeon here for 24 years. He fathered seven children by her. The then 73-year-old was sentenced to life imprisonment in March 2009 for negligent homicide, rape, deprivation of liberty, serious coercion and incest and was sent to an institution for mentally disturbed criminals.
