An 81-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a truck in Leoben in Styria on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 1:30 p.m., a 48-year-old truck driver from the Leoben district drove his vehicle west in the Donawitz district on Kerpelystrasse. At the same time, the 81-year-old, also from the Leoben district, cycled in the same direction at a bicycle crossing.
The truck driver wanted to turn left with his vehicle at an intersection and may have overlooked the cyclist who was driving parallel to the truck. He hit the cyclist, causing him to fall. The seriously injured victim was taken by rescue operation to the location LKH Hochsteiermark, Bruck an der Mur, the truck driver was unharmed.
