A trial started in Germany on Tuesday against a teenager (14) who allegedly murdered a six-year-old child. The suspect is accused of punching the victim in the face multiple times and stabbing him with a knife (see video above).
The brutal act is said to have taken place on September 14, 2023 in the bushes near the football field in a small village in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany). The teenager (14) allegedly punched the child in the face several times and stabbed him seven times with a knife with a blade about 15 centimeters long. Six-year-old Joel subsequently died, which the suspect at least accepted with consent, the public prosecutor said on Tuesday.
DNA trace found on the knife
The suspect was involved in contradictions and his DNA trace was also found on the knife. He has been in custody since September 26. According to a report, he is healthy. “Based on the results of the forensic psychiatric and developmental psychological examination of the suspect, the Public Prosecution Service is convinced of his criminal responsibility,” the Public Prosecution Service said.
Brother also charged
She is also investigating the suspect’s 17-year-old brother. There was a corresponding tip, it was said. The Public Prosecution Service has not provided specific details about the proceedings against the brother, who is not in custody. The family has since moved from the village.
According to the court, approximately forty witnesses and five experts will be heard throughout the trial. Five witnesses were invited on Tuesday. A total of seven negotiation dates are currently scheduled.
