120 emergency services – rafter fire kept the Kleinwalsertal in suspense

Date:

During the night from Sunday to Monday, the Floriani disciples in the Kleinwalsertal were called up for a large-scale operation. Shortly before midnight, a fire broke out in a multi-family house in Hirschegg. A resident noticed at 23:55 that there was a fire on the balcony of the upstairs apartment and immediately alerted the emergency services.

There were four other people in the house at the time. They were awakened by the attentive neighbor and all five were able to get out in time to bring the fire service to safety.

The emergency services were eventually confronted with a fire that had already spread from the balcony to the roof structure. The fire brigade first tried to bring the fire under control from the inside, but failed – also due to the enormous heat that prevailed in the rooms.

Meanwhile, the flames spread rapidly. The Floriani disciples decided to put out the fire from the outside. To do this, the roof structure of the house was opened with the help of a crane. It was not until 2 a.m. that the redeeming “fire out!” Be given.

Significant damage has been done to the property. Not only was the roof truss completely burned out, the facade was also damaged.

Two of the residents were hospitalized for suspected smoke inhalation, and 120 firefighters from Riezlern, Hirschegg, Mittelberg and Oberstdorf were involved in the operation.

It was initially unclear why the fire broke out in the first place and the investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
