Hit several times – the series of serious skiing accidents continues

On Thursday, rescue workers and emergency medical helicopters were again continuously active in the Tyrolean ski areas. There were numerous skiing accidents resulting in injuries and some hit-and-run accidents.

In the Hochzillertal ski area, a collision took place around 10:40 am between a 60-year-old skier from Belgium and an unknown skier on the red slope number 5. The 60-year-old was hit from behind, fell and was seriously injured. The stranger drove on without paying any attention to the injured man.

Belgian flown to clinic by helicopter
The emergency helicopter Heli 4 flew the Belgian to the clinic in Innsbruck. The driver who was hit is probably a boy between 10 and 14 years old, probably also Belgian.

Dutchman broke his femur
At 11 a.m., a 74-year-old Dutch skier and an unknown piste user collided in the ski area “Skijuwel – Alpbachtal/Wildschönau”. He continued his journey without stopping and the Dutchman broke his left femur. He was flown to Schwaz Hospital.

Internal injuries sustained
At around 12.15 pm, a collision took place in Kühtai am Hochalter between a Belgian skier (48) and an unknown snowboarder. The Belgian fell and suffered internal injuries. The Martin 2 emergency helicopter took him to the hospital in Zams.
