After a miscarriage, a couple in London hid their dead baby in their own fridge. They had previously waited unsuccessfully for hours in a hospital emergency room to be treated and handed in their remains.
“It was grotesque,” Laura told the BBC and The Guardian newspaper. She and her partner spent hours in the emergency department of a London hospital receiving treatment after a miscarriage at home. After the failed attempt, they put the remains of their dead child in a plastic box in their own refrigerator. The incident dates back to a few months ago and the reports were released on Monday.

The Greenwich and Lewisham Trust of the English Health Service then offered their condolences to the couple and announced that they would survive the events. UK Secretary of State for Women’s Health Maria Caulfield said a working group would work to improve conditions. In addition, 1,200 new midwives must be trained.
The British health service is struggling with a lack of money and long waiting lists for planned treatments and operations.
