A 47-year-old man from Western Styria had all his weapons confiscated on Saturday after he shot at a target from his terrace across a community street. However, he missed: the projectile hit the car of an uninvolved man.
An irresponsible shooting exercise by a West Styrian man led to a police operation in Voitsberg on Saturday evening. According to police, a 47-year-old shot from his terrace with a small caliber rifle at a target ten to fifteen meters away – which he had mounted on a fence across a municipal road.
The projectile hit 200 meters away
When the man fired a shot, he apparently missed the target. About 200 meters away, a 61-year-old from Voitsberger stood in a meadow above the road. He saw that the projectile landed on the ground right next to his car and alerted the police.
Police confiscated all weapons and ammunition from the 47-year-old and issued a temporary weapons ban.
