In Sydney, police arrested one of their own on Friday on suspicion of murdering a gay couple. A bullet from the police officer’s service weapon was found at the scene. Until recently, he is said to have had a relationship with one of the murdered men.
It concerns 26-year-old presenter Jesse Bair and 29-year-old flight attendant Luke Davies. The investigation was launched after the couple’s blood-stained clothing was found in a rubbish bin in a Sydney suburb earlier this week. Following this discovery, Bair and Davies’ apartment was eventually searched. Police found “a large amount of blood” but no trace of the men.
Bodies thrown away?
A bullet found in the apartment provided the decisive clue to the suspected perpetrator. It came from the service weapon of the arrested police officer. His colleagues suspect that the couple’s bodies were taken away in a van and disposed of. The vehicle is currently under forensic examination.
Personal relationship
According to Australian media, the suspect worked as a celebrity blogger before joining the police force. He was seen in photos with celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Ben Stiller, among others. Until recently, the alleged perpetrator was said to have had a relationship with Bair, but they subsequently broke up.
