Almost unbelievable scenes took place on Sunday in the ski area “Skijuwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau” in Tyrol! A German skier (51) lost control, took off at high speed and was thrown no less than 27 (!) meters through the air. He suffered serious injuries.
The beautiful weather attracted countless residents and guests to the Tyrolean ski slopes, including a 51-year-old German. He alternated in the ski area “Skijuwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau” and showed a lot of courage. At around 11.25am he ventured down the black marked piste number 55a – an endeavor that did not end well.

When entering ski slope number 52, the 51-year-old – according to the police he was driving quite quickly – lost control of his skis and was subsequently thrown about 27 meters through the air. Then he took to the ski slope with full force.
Flown to the clinic by helicopter
A doctor who happened to be present immediately carried out the first measures and started the rescue chain. After the first treatment, the winter sports enthusiast with serious back injuries was flown to the clinic in Innsbruck with the emergency medical helicopter “Heli 4”.
