A man from Graz (43) attacked and injured a 59-year-old acquaintance with an ax and two knives in the Geidorf district on Friday evening. The man suffered a cut in the neck and face, the police only announced on Monday. The suspect fled after the crime; he was probably driving a dark-colored Skoda Fabia station wagon. The weekend’s search turned out negative.

Injured to head and neck
Police officers from the Andritz Inspectorate were called to Schönbrunngasse on Friday around 10 p.m. The victim’s wife called the emergency services via the police emergency number. According to initial investigations, the 43-year-old from Graz attacked his victim with an ax and two knives shortly before 10 p.m. The 59-year-old suffered a stab and laceration wound to his head and neck. The rescue took him to the LKH Graz. He was treated there as an outpatient.

Suspect has gun
Officers probably found the suspect’s weapons at the scene. Further investigation by the criminal investigation department of the police command of the city of Graz confirmed the suspicion that the 43-year-old had deliberately attacked his acquaintance. Nothing was yet known about the motive. The Public Prosecution Service has ordered the arrest on suspicion of attempted murder. He could be on the run in his car with Graz license plate. The man owns a gun that is legally registered in his name. However, it is not certain whether he has it with him.

The man we are looking for is Austrian, 1.80 meters tall, slim and has long hair in a bun. He also has a larger and noticeable lump-like cyst above his right eye. The man was wearing a reflective jacket at the time of the crime.
