Because of the noise it was a harmless operation. But in Steyr (Upper Austria) it escalated and eventually two police officers were injured and two Afghans were taken into custody. One of the brothers even jumped through a glass door to attack police officers.
Noise: A daily police operation in Steyr-Münichholz went completely out of control – eventually two injured officers and a pair of Afghan brothers were arrested. The older asylum seeker (25) greeted the police officers with a fit shortly before 10 p.m., jumping at someone and clinging to him. It was only when pepper spray was used that the scuffle ended and the 25-year-old was arrested.

But that wasn’t enough: because there were other partygoers in the apartment, the police closed the door to the hallway. But that didn’t stop the younger brother of the arrested man. The 21-year-old jumped through the glass towards the officers, grabbed one of the broken pieces lying around and used it to attack one of the other police officers who had now been called in for support. Finally they managed to bring the violent brother to the ground and arrest him.
The reason for the out-of-the-blue attack during what was essentially an innocent operation is still unclear, and the other Afghans and Iranians present in the apartment did not assist the investigation much.
