Whether as a monarch in the satirical show ‘We are Emperor’ or as a comedian on stage: Robert Palfrader has always shown his humorous side. The 55-year-old spoke to ‘Krone’ about his new seriousness, his spiritual teacher and dealing with depressive phases.
“Kron”: Mr. Palfrader, you will appear in Bad Tatzmannsdorf on March 9 with your solo program “Alone”. Are you looking forward to it?
Robert Palfrader: And how! First of all, I have the Burgenland family through my uncle Radatz, my mother’s brother-in-law. Secondly, as a teenager I often visited friends in Apetlon, also called “Obaloa”. That’s why I know all too well what a Lodiridaria Returigucker and a Hummit tractor is – namely a drill, a mirror and a helicopter (laughs). I was also in love with hundreds of beautiful Burgenland women. But no one heard me. I can’t say what makes them so attractive because I haven’t gotten that close to any of them. I was only allowed to admire these Madonna-like creatures that floated past me from a distance. But I was only 14. And now, at 55, it’s too late, because I’m too stupid and too smart.
