“Woof!” – With soft barks and whines, three puppies thanked police officers in Upper Austria for saving them from the clutches of an illegal dog trafficker. The officers had tracked down the truck driver, who wanted to earn some extra money, along the highway.
“Thanks to an attentive driver, we were able to stop an illegal puppy trade in a parking lot on the Innkreis highway. The three pinschers were arrested by the highway police and taken to a veterinary clinic. The Bulgarian dog owner is receiving messages,” Upper Austrian police said of the dog rescue.
Puppies in a box
The driver noticed that an illegal puppy dealer was apparently causing mischief in the parking lot of the Murau Ost A8 highway in Utzenaich shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday. The Rieder highway police actually arrested the driver of a Bulgarian van. There were three puppies in a box.
Officers collected food and water
The Pinscher Babies puppies were given food and water by police and taken to an animal clinic. The 47-year-old Bulgarian driver of the van was reported to the Ried district council for violations of the Animal Welfare and Animal Diseases Act and had to pay the bail on the spot. Naturally, the dogs were taken away from him.
