Ten fire brigades were alerted to a fire in a business premises in Gralla (Leibnitz district) on Sunday around 7 p.m. When the Florianis arrived, the building was already completely on fire.
No injuries
Firefighters were able to rescue a car from the burning building, but other vehicles and stored equipment caught fire. According to police, no people or animals were injured.
The road had to be closed
Due to the large-scale operation, the B 73 had to be closed and a diversion set up. “Fire out” was declared around 10 p.m. The extent of the material damage cannot yet be estimated.
On Monday afternoon, the outcome of the investigation into the cause of the fire was clear: the fire was probably started by a grill filled with hot charcoal. The residents had parked it in the farm building. The wind may have caused sparks.
