In January alone, 1,575 complaints about telephone number abuse were received at the telephone number abuse hotline – “and the trend is rising again,” said Dr. Klaus M. Steinmaurer, director of the RTR regulatory body for the telecommunications and postal sectors, reported and warned recently: “With the mobile phones we always have with us, we run the risk of falling prey to fraudulent activities on the Internet.
