On Friday, handcuffs were put on a man wanted throughout Europe. He and his passengers were caught during a vehicle inspection. The investigators discovered even more crimes in the perpetrators’ car!
For three thieves, the last stop was on the Südautobahn Höhe Sternberg near Villach. The police carried out a vehicle check there. Investigators soon noticed that the driver identified himself with a fake Serbian driver’s license and that one of the two passengers showed a fake Slovenian passport.
A European arrest warrant is available
But that was not enough: numerous expensive items of clothing were found in the vehicle, of which the initially unknown persons could not provide any proof of ownership. The garments were confiscated and the Serbs were temporarily arrested.
As if that wasn’t enough, it then turned out that there was an active EU arrest warrant against one of the three men. To arrest!
