On Sunday evening there were hectic scenes in and in front of a club in Graz: several visitors suddenly complained of health problems, the cause of which was probably irritation. Just 24 hours earlier, another nightclub in the Styrian capital had to be evacuated due to a bomb threat.
Around 2 a.m., Graz police were called to a larger club in the Gries district because several people suddenly complained of health problems at an event there.
Due to the size of the event, several patrols, two ambulances and an emergency doctor were dispatched.
Pepper spray as a trigger?
According to the police, it turned out at the scene that an unknown perpetrator had released an irritant in the park in front of the club, which apparently came into contact with several people.
A young woman and a man complained of burning eyes, shortness of breath and severe itching. Both injured people were taken to the Graz eye clinic.
More incidents
Shortly afterwards, the police had to call in two more ambulances because a woman was found motionless at the scene due to excessive alcohol consumption. One man was visibly confused and extremely drunk. They also had to be admitted to the LKH Graz.
