Good news for Wien Energie customers: electricity and gas prices will be significantly reduced.
From April 1, the price of the electricity tariff ‘Optima Entspannt’, including discounts, will drop to approximately 14.9 cents net (approximately 18.9 cents gross) per kilowatt hour, the company announced on Wednesday. The floater electricity rate “Optima Aktiv”, which is adjusted monthly to market developments, is expected to drop to approximately 7.3 cents net in April.
Wien Energie has also promised price cuts in gas prices. The ‘Optima Relaxed’ gas rate with a one-year price guarantee is expected to drop by around 25 percent in April, while the floater gas rate ‘Optima Aktiv’ will remain at a stable level. The specific prices would only be determined at the end of March due to the tariff-relevant indices.
Existing customers can also be happy
For existing customers in individual old tariffs, prices should also drop significantly from April 1. In total, prices in old contracts are expected to fall by more than 30 percent for 30,000 electricity customers and by approximately 57 percent for approximately 1,400 gas customers.
