A 41-year-old Hungarian allegedly stabbed his ex-wife several times in the neck with a knife on Thursday evening in Breitenbrunn (Burgenland). After the bloody act, the man fled – the police are looking for him.
The suspect is said to have left a suicide note before his escape, the BVZ reported on Friday morning. The victim, the 33-year-old ex-wife of the wanted man, was seriously injured in the knife attack. She was flown to hospital by emergency helicopter. There is currently no risk to the 33-year-old’s life.
The search for the suspect continues
In the meantime, the search for the Hungarian remained fruitless. The manhunt will continue on Friday. Officers from the LKA Burgenland, the Eisenstadt Criminal Investigation Department and the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG), drones, police dogs and other patrols were involved in the large-scale manhunt on Thursday.
