Four people were arrested at an anti-abortion demonstration in the center of Innsbruck on Saturday. According to police, ‘small groups or opponents’ of the so-called March for Life tried to ‘disrupt’ the meeting.
In addition to the four arrests, there were also two reports and 19 identity checks, the driver reports. About 200 people took part in the demonstration.
Two police officers injured
Before the demonstration had left Cathedral Square, a 28-year-old and a 22-year-old were arrested for attempting to resist state violence and assaulting an official. Two police officers were slightly injured, it was said. Two other people were arrested for disorderly conduct, among other charges.
The demonstration ended after about two hours. There was brief traffic disruption. There were 80 police officers present.
