War in Ukraine – Zelensky warns: without American help we will have to give way

Date:

If the US blocks further military aid to war-torn Ukraine in Congress, Head of State Volodymyr Zelensky will have to gradually withdraw his forces. Meanwhile, Russian combat drones are ravaging the country again.

“If there is no American support, it means we have no anti-aircraft guns, no Patriot missiles, no electronic warfare jammers, no 155-millimeter artillery shells,” Zelensky told the Washington Post.

“That means we are withdrawing step by step, in small steps,” he said. “We’re trying to find a way not to retreat.”

Kiev relies on the supply of German Taurus cruise missiles
Ukraine continues to rely on a supply of German Taurus cruise missiles, which is rejected by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. “We see several internal discussions in Germany about Taurus for Ukraine. “This is a normal discussion and I think it should continue,” Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podoljak told Bild, according to a preliminary report. It concerns long-range weapons from different countries: “Some countries have already decided to supply these to us. And the discussion is still ongoing with some countries.”

Infrastructure object in Poltava hit by drone attack
Meanwhile, Russia attacked Ukraine again on Saturday evening with combat drones. Of the twelve drones in total, nine have been disposed of, the Ukrainian Air Force announced this morning via Telegram. In addition, the Russian army has deployed four S-300 and S-400 missiles. In the central Ukrainian region of Poltava, the military government reported that an infrastructure object had been hit by drones.

Numerous power outages
After more than two years of aggressive war, the Russian army is once again increasingly targeting the Ukrainian energy infrastructure to paralyze the supply of electricity and heat to the population. Power outages continue to occur, especially around the eastern city of Kharkiv: On Saturday, state energy company Centerserho confirmed that a major power and thermal power plant was largely destroyed in a serious attack on March 22. “The degree of destruction varies: from complete to significant,” it explains.
