An eight-year-old girl was found murdered in Mexico. Shortly before his death he was visiting a neighboring family. The suspicious neighbor is also no longer alive: she was murdered by a crowd of angry people.
As reported, videos purporting to show the kidnapping of eight-year-old Camila had spread on social media. According to a report in Spanish media, authorities also had information from private surveillance cameras at the time. Police surrounded the house to prevent the neighbor from escaping. But before they could take further action, an angry mob broke into the house and took away the woman and her children. The videos show people climbing onto the roof, eventually breaking into the house and punching and kicking the woman and her two sons.
Mob was too slow for the police
“Kill her,” kill her, they would have shouted. The neighbor was seen on the surveillance camera. She is told to put a basket of clothes in a taxi, including a bundle that could be Camila’s body. The crowd said the police acted too slowly and should have issued an arrest warrant earlier.
The officers did not immediately take the seriously injured neighbor to a hospital, but to the public prosecutor’s office. The severity of the injuries was not known, said the mayor of the municipality of Taxco de Alarcón, where the incident occurred. The suspect ultimately died there and her two sons are said to be in stable condition.
Man arrested
According to media reports, the lynched woman was a friend of Camila’s mother. They say the girl was invited to use the pool on a warm afternoon. When Camila’s mother went to pick up the eight-year-old a few hours later, the woman denied coming to the house in the first place. The mother then searched the area desperately and without success. She reportedly received phone calls discussing a kidnapping and demanding money for her daughter’s release.
The lynched woman’s partner eventually revealed the whereabouts of the body and was arrested as a suspect. The girl was buried on Friday afternoon.
